Trucks are getting stuck under the High Level Bridge … still.
The most restrictive route in Edmonton continues to rack up accidents with trucks that are too tall to pass under.
The clearance under the bridge is 3.2 meters (10.5 feet).
Last summer, a new driver for Western Logistics destroyed a $30,000 trailer.
The number of calls police receive each year due to backups around the High Level caused by oversized vehicles has been reported to be in the 40s, including campers, buses, and cube vans.
While truckers who have not made it through the passage have said they were confused, others have said that there are sufficient signs warning drivers about the height and to take another route, and all that’s lacking is attention to the signs.
The accidents have so far not caused structural damage to the bridge.
