Crystal Intelligence Takes Action Against Cryptocurrency Fraud

In a bold move to combat the rising tide of cryptocurrency fraud, blockchain analytics firm Crystal Intelligence has announced its acquisition of Scam Alert, a platform dedicated to reporting crypto scams. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance fraud detection capabilities and provide critical support to victims worldwide.

Addressing the Rise in Cryptocurrency Crime

According to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, global losses from cryptocurrency scams surged by 66% year-over-year in 2024, exceeding a staggering $9.3 billion. Victims often find themselves isolated, lacking the support needed to recover their stolen assets or see justice served.

The integration of Scam Alert into Crystal’s operations promises to change this narrative. By leveraging advanced analytics, the initiative aims to create a structured and transparent ecosystem for fraud detection and victim support. Crystal Intelligence will consolidate fraud reports submitted via Scam Alert, identifying larger fraud networks and exposing coordinated criminal activity.

This proactive approach will enable virtual asset service providers and law enforcement agencies to act swiftly, reducing the chances of further victimization. “We receive countless distress messages from scam victims, but there’s rarely a system to assist them,” commented Navin Gupta, CEO of Crystal Intelligence. “Scam Alert represents our commitment to providing real help by sorting through genuine reports and collaborating with law enforcement to recover stolen assets.”

Whale Alert, the organization that created Scam Alert to promote transparency in crypto crime, will remain involved as an advisory partner. This collaboration is expected to amplify the platform’s reach, capitalizing on Whale Alert’s influential social media presence and extensive fraud tracking expertise.

Marina Khaustova, COO of Crystal, emphasized the potential impact of Scam Alert, stating, “Scam Alert can be a lifesaver for those affected by crypto fraud. Victims deserve a recognized pathway for support and funding for recovery. We are transforming disparate experiences into actionable intelligence.”

A Global Rollout Plan

Crystal Intelligence plans to roll out Scam Alert globally, starting with the collection of multilingual data and regional victim support centers. The platform will adopt a hyper-local intelligence approach, engaging local blockchain communities, foundations, and regulatory bodies to ensure grassroots involvement.

This initiative has garnered support from key industry players, including Tether, Polygon, and the Ethereum Foundation, highlighting a growing consensus on the urgent need for a robust cryptocurrency security infrastructure.

Structured as a self-sustaining and non-commercial project, Scam Alert serves as a call to action for the entire blockchain industry to unite against cryptocurrency scams through shared intelligence, transparency, and collaboration.
